The photonic engineering that went into DEFINITY closes the physical gap between the color spaces of video and film to the highest extent possible: an RGB filter system with an extremely sharp spectral cut-off, a tri-phosphor fluorescent light source with a very wide gamut, yet with its spectral curve carefully adapted to the photochemical characteristics of both camera negatives and intermediate films. This allows both supersaturated colors and finely nuanced hues, some of them difficult to achieve even on laser systems. > Repeatability
